³⁵ When ·Paul [^Lhe] came to the steps [^Cleading up to the Antonia fortress], the soldiers had to carry him because ·the people were ready to hurt him [^Lof the violence of the mob/crowd]. ³⁶ [^LFor] The whole mob was following them, shouting, “·Kill [or Away with] him!”

³⁷ As ·the soldiers [^Lthey] were about to take Paul into the ·army building [barracks], he spoke to the ·commander [tribune], “May I say something to you?”
